The Spring Clean-Up and Treasure Hunt held on Saturday, April 21st was a great success. The participants were energized by coffee, juice and donuts for the 9AM start. Many thanks to the families that helped clean up Deerfield Manor on what was a beautiful Spring day!
To encourage participation by the children we have created a "Treasure Hunt" contest to complement the admittedly dull (but necessary!) trash picking. This time the "treasure" was five brightly colored fly-swatters scattered around the neighborhood. Kids redeemed their treasure for five REAL GOLD dollar coins (Washington's and Sacagawea's) to share among their trash-picking team members. Nothing wrong with a little incentive to get the neighborhood spic-n-span for Spring. "Cash for Trash" was cool with the kids. The Deerfield Homeowners Association conducts two clean ups each year. Please try to help us at this Fall's Clean-up and plan to bring your kids! |
